About solarizealbany.org
In 2014, several individuals in the Albany area teamed up to discuss how they might work together to stimulate the growth of renewable energy, especially solar energy. This group's background ranged - some had previously been involved in the Transition Communities movement, others from the world of energy and environmental activism. In collaboration with Solarize Troy, which had launched its program in 2014, the Albany team began to plan its own campaign. Throughout 2014, meetings were held and research on prior Solarize campaigns was undertaken to develop the scope and focus of the Solarize Albany campaign which was launched in 2015.
