About redeemerlutheranbronx.org
Previous to his service at Redeemer, Pastor Wittrock had served as the Executive Director of the American Lutheran Publicity Bureau. As many of Redeemer’s ethnic European members moved from the Wakefield community to the suburbs of New York City and elsewhere, new people from diverse cultural backgrounds came to Wakefield. Many urban parishes did not adjust well to similar changes, but, by God’s grace, Redeemer did. This was in great part due to the Spirit-inspired love and devotion of Pastor Wittrock, his family, and the many dedicated laypeople of Redeemer who welcomed newcomers of every race, ethnicity and culture.
