تعد وزارة الداخلية من أهم أجهزة الدولة ، وقد استحدث المغفور له بإذن الله السلطان سعيد بن تيمور هذا الجهاز عندما تقلد زمام الحكم خلفا لوالده الذي استخلفه عام 1350 هـ - 1932 م وكان يطلق على هذه الوزارة باسم نظارة الداخلية ويطلق على الوزير باسم ناظر الداخلية .
