About mambaonline.com
MambaOnline was launched in 2001 in Johannesburg by Luiz De Barros as a project of queer-owned media production company Underdog Productions, which he also co-founded. This was borne out of frustration with the lack of queer visibility and representation in the media and the limited opportunities to critically address key issues facing the LGBTIQ+ community. In 2005, Luiz left the firm and bought out MambaOnline, registering it as a standalone entity. Since then, the platform has gone on to become the leading and longest continuously running online platform for the LGBTIQ+ community in Southern Africa, expanding its reach across social media platforms.
