As a child with undiagnosed ADHD and dyslexia, I thought I was dumb because I couldn’t keep up with my classmates. When I reached middle school everything changed. Moving from room to room for different subjects became a form of time blocking. Once I found success in a few subjects, I realized that certain organizational tricks could be used in harder subjects as well. I also came to recognize that my brain just works differently than other people. It takes me longer to make sense out of my work, but I eventually got the results that I wanted. Within a few years, using these techniques, I became a straight-A student.
