About grolierclub.org
THE GROLIER CLUB OF NEW YORK was one of the first organizations in America to treat books and prints as objects worthy of display, on par with painting and sculpture. In its 141-year history the Club has organized almost one thousand such exhibitions on topics ranging from Blake to Kipling, from chess to murder mysteries, from Japanese prints (the 1896 exhibition of which was the first public display of Japanese prints in the United States) to Art Nouveau posters. There are three shows a year in the ground floor gallery, all open to the public free of charge.
