George W. Shiebler Co. of New York, New York (1892-1915) was one of the very first silversmith designers to use a neo-classical Greco-Roman style motif with busts of warriors, men and women in his silver designs in flatware, hollowware and jewelry. He called the pattern "Homeric" and it is often refered to also as "Etruscan Medallion." His particular design style had a "salvaged" look based on the archaeological excavations at Pompeii and Herculaneum. Irregular "broken off" bits.
