Dr. Gary C. Kessler, CISSP is an independent researcher, consultant, and practitioner in the areas of maritime cybersecurity, computer and network security, and communications protocols and standards. Gary took his first computer programming course (FORTAN IV) in 1973, inadvertently crashed his first mainframe in 1974, and purposely crashed his first mainframe in 1975. Gary has been engaged in the information security field — one of the things we used to call it before cybersecurity — at one level or another since the late-1970s.
