The Wealth Equity Lab (WEL), formerly the Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis, advances economic policy grounded in academic rigor. As a university-based research center housed in The New School’s Economics Department, the Wealth Equity Lab focuses specifically on the economic challenges facing aging populations and the retirement crisis confronting American workers. Guided by principles of dignity in work and security in retirement for all, Wealth Equity Lab produces original research, policy analysis, and public engagement that aim to strengthen the retirement system and promote economic security across generations.
