Dutch-Bangla Bank started operation is Bangladesh's first joint venture bank. The bank was an effort by local shareholders spearheaded by M Sahabuddin Ahmed (founder chairman) and the Nederlandse Financierings-Maatschappij voor Ontwikkelingslanden N.V.(FMO), the Netherlands Development Finance Company.
