Andrea Trudeau, Ph.D., NBCT, and AASL's 2020 Frances Henne Award winner, is 27-year veteran educator and a self-proclaimed no-"shh" librarian who has cultivated an active learning commons in her public middle school, emphasizing community, creativity, critical thinking, and fun. As a Fulbright-Hays scholar in 2022, she spent nearly six weeks in rural Tanzania and Kenya teaching secondary students in public and private schools--an experience that sparked her passion for supporting libraries worldwide. Andrea's research interests include exploring how cinematic virtual reality can promote affective and cognitive empathy in K-12 students.
