About b-i-a-s.org.uk

Angus Buchanan April 2005BIAS, the Bristol Industrial Archaeological Society, was one of many local societies formed in the 1960s in response to the massive public interest in Britain in this new field of study. It was founded in 1968, having grown out of an adult evening course taken by Angus Buchanan and Neil Cossons in 1965-68. This had stimulated such enthusiasm amongst its members that the class converted itself into a society, with the two tutors as Chairman and Secretary respectively, and brought out the first number of BIAS Journal.
