About asem-education.org
To ensure effective coordination of ASEM Education Process initiatives and activities, ASEM Ministers of Education during ASEMME2 in 2009 agreed to establish a rotating ASEM Education Secretariat (AES) in which countries in Asia and Europe take turns to host the AES on a voluntary basis. Germany was the inaugural host of the AES (2008-2013), followed by Indonesia (2013-2017) and Belgium (2018-2022). The current secretariat is hosted by Italy until end 2026.
